Notice to Elementary School Parents: Do You Have Feelings About Your Student's Recess? Take the District's Survey and Let Us Know How You Feel

Spring Branch's School Health Advisory Council is conducting a survey of elementary parents to obtain input on recess for our elementary students.  The survey asks the following questions:

1. Do you believe recess should be organized play or free play?
2. Do you believe recess minutes should be allowed to count for mandatory structured Health Fitness minutes?
3. Should a student receive recess and Health Fitness in the same day?
4. Should recess be used as a disciplinary tool?
5. Should recess be used for tutorials?
6. Please rate the importance of recess for social development
7. Please rate the importance of recess for academic success
8. Please rate the importance of recess for growth and development
9. Should recess be reformatted on bad weather days to allow for a break from academics?
10. What activities should be included in rainy day/bad weather recess?
11. What is an adequate time for recess?
