What's Timetric for?
Timetric's here to help you make sense of data. If you think about it, most of the numbers we come across every day are things like temperatures, prices, rates, volumes: numbers which vary over time. That's what Timetric focuses on: graphing, tracking and comparing the movements of data over time.
The fancy name for this sort of thing is time series analysis. We're building tools to make it as easy to build models on top of time series — updated whenever the data they're based on is updated — as it is to use a spreadsheet.
But tools aren't much use without data, so we've collected together some you might be interested in, like economic, social and environmental data from sources including the United Kingdom government, the Federal Reserve System and the European Central Bank. (And we're adding more every day.)
You can use Timetric to show people your data and analysis as well; so the graphs you draw on Timetric can be embedded into your blogs and websites, and if the data they're based on is updated, they'll be updated too. You can set up alerts too, and get Timetric to email you when something interesting happens to a value you're watching.
And on top of all of that, we make it really easy to import your own data; you can upload Excel (or CSV) spreadsheets or enter it in by hand. For the programmers out there, we've got an API, and we support all the good stuff like OAuth, OpenID and OpenSearch, so it's easy to integrate Timetric with other services.
Even so, all of that's just scratching the surface! So Timetric's for quite a lot of different possibilities, really. But mostly it's for helping people make sense of things.
How do I get started?
Sign up here! Have a read of this, too; it'll help you find your way around.
We're in beta right now, so there are still some rough edges here and there. Also, while we're in beta, we're not making any guarantees about performance, uptime or the like, though we'll do our very best: if you run across any problems, or you need help with anything let us know! There's a feedback link at the bottom of every page on Timetric.
How much does it cost?
Timetric is free to use — although we may add extra, premium features in the future. We're also interested in talking to you if you'd like a customised or private version of Timetric for you or your organisation: drop us an email and we'll be in touch.
Who developed Timetric?
Timetric is developed by Inkling Software. We're based in Cambridge in the United Kingdom. Find out what we're doing at the moment either on the Timetric blog or by following @timetric on Twitter!
